SHARING CHILDREN'S MINISTRY WITH OUR MCCW SISTERS FROM KIRTLAND AIR FORCE BASE, NM

At Kirtland Air Force Base, PWOC has Bible study on Wednesday mornings and Military Council of Catholic Women has Bible study on Thursday mornings. To avoid missing our Bible study classes to work in the Children's Ministry, we fill slots for each other. In other words, the MCCW ladies support us in the Children's Ministry room on Wednesdays and we support our Catholic sisters on Thursday. It's a great partnership!

A HOME SCHOOL IDEA FROM KATTERBACH, GERMANY

At our PWOC in Katterbach, Germany we have reached out to our home schooling community by offering a home school class for elementary age children. Our home school moms and other volunteers man the class for the first hour of PWOC. We ask that parents provide 30 minutes of independent educational material and our volunteer supervises/ helps where needed. Then our volunteer provides snack and an activity that fosters cooperative relationships between the students; board game, outside games, science or simple cooking projects, etc. For our second hour when our ladies go to class, our volunteer leaves and a Bible study teacher steps in. In other words we treat this class as a Bible study too. Our teacher is included in all teacher meetings conducted by Spiritual Life and we also have a Home School Liaison on our board.  Our study is appropriate for grades 1-5.  This class has opened up PWOC to about 7 new families.
